Riot Games Unveils Ahri Skin for League of Legends Fighting Game 2XKO
Riot Games has introduced a new Ahri skin for its upcoming League of Legends fighting game, 2XKO. Officially revealed earlier this year, 2XKO is a 2v2 tag-based fighting game featuring iconic characters from the League of Legends universe, including Ahri, Illaoi, Braum, and Yasuo.
Similar to other fighting games, 2XKO's characters showcase unique fighting styles that align with their original abilities from League of Legends. For instance, Riot Games has successfully translated Ahri's Mage-Assassin role into an effective combat style in 2XKO. She utilizes her Orb of Deception and Charm abilities to deliver burst damage to her enemies, while her signature move, Spirit Rush, allows her to dash towards opponents, catching them off guard.
Riot Games is also incorporating champion skins into 2XKO. During the 2XKO panel at EVO 2024, developers unveiled the Dynasty Ahri skin, featuring the champion in a pink hanbok-inspired outfit. This skin, first released in 2011, has remained one of Ahri's most popular skins.
How to Get the Dynasty Ahri Skin in 2XKO
Riot Games announced that the Dynasty Ahri skin will be available through the 2XKO battle pass in the Alpha Lab, the game's playtest hub launching in August. Players interested in trying out the game and experiencing the Dynasty Ahri skin can sign up for the playtest via the 2XKO website. However, it remains unclear whether the battle pass and skin will be free for playtesters or if they will require a purchase.
Steps to Acquire the Dynasty Ahri Skin:
- Sign up for 2XKO's Alpha Lab on the official website.
- Wait for confirmation of selection to participate in the playtest period from August 8 to 19.
- Avail of the 2XKO battle pass to get the Dynasty Ahri skin (details on whether it’s free for playtesters are still unclear).
Many League of Legends fans have expressed excitement over the Dynasty Ahri skin, noting that it looks even better than the original version due to its more pronounced Asian-inspired details. However, some fans are concerned that the skin might come at a high price, especially if it's available in the full release. This concern is valid, particularly after the backlash League of Legends faced for its expensive Faker Ahri skin.
Nonetheless, 2XKO is already showing significant promise with its unique fighting game style and its fresh take on popular League of Legends characters. Riot Games continues to expand the League of Legends universe through various gameplay genres, such as the Vampire Survivors-inspired Swarm PvE mode.
