Nintendo Japan has canceled the Nintendo Live 2024 event due to safety concerns
Due to ongoing threats affecting both staff and attendees, Nintendo has announced the cancellation of the Splatoon Koshien 2023 National finals and Nintendo Live 2024.
The Splatoon Koshien 2023 National was scheduled for December 16-17 at Ota Sogo Gymnasium in Tokyo, while Nintendo Live 2024 was slated for January 20-21, 2024, at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center.
The company made the decision to cancel these events out of concern for the safety of its customers.
The Splatoon 3 World Championship in 2024, the final stage of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online challenge, and the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship in 2024, which were planned for Nintendo Live 2024, have been postponed.
Nintendo announced that a new schedule for the tournaments will be published on its website and official X account once it's finalized.
After returning to Japan in 2022, the Nintendo Live festival headed to the United States this year.
Last year's Nintendo Live 2023, held in Seattle in September, provided a unique opportunity to play on the Switch, enjoy live stage performances, participate in gaming tournaments, take photos, and engage in other entertainment activities.
