Following the open beta test, the release of Ubisoft's FPS XDefiant has once again been postponed

Ubisoft's development team has announced a delay in the release of the game XDefiant following public beta testing, during which certain issues were identified.

In an official Twitter statement, the developers expressed their gratitude to all participants in the open beta test for their active involvement in shaping XDefiant. They emphasized that the testing confirmed players' enthusiasm for the game's dynamic gameplay, unique maps, objective-based modes, and iconic factions.

However, the beta test also revealed imperfections in the gaming experience that require additional work before the release of the XDefiant preseason. As a result, the team has decided to postpone the start of the preseason to address these identified issues.

Developers have pledged to continue their efforts to rectify the identified problems and conduct additional testing to achieve their goal of creating the best arcade shooter. They also promised to provide more information about the preseason and testing as it becomes available.

This delay could prove advantageous for Ubisoft, as the previously planned October release would have coincided with a crowded release schedule, with the added competition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 just weeks away.

In June, Ubisoft had anticipated a late summer release for XDefiant, with a final "open session" scheduled for June 21-23, after which the game would be launched. However, by September, it became clear that this summer release window would be missed due to issues encountered during certification tests for Microsoft and Sony consoles.

The latest delay does not specify a new release window, leaving it uncertain whether it will be a brief setback or require a more extended resolution process.

When the game ultimately does release, it will feature five factions from various Ubisoft titles: Libertad (Far Cry), Phantoms (Ghost Recon), Echelon (Splinter Cell), Cleaners (The Division), and DedSec (Watch Dogs).
