Created in collaboration between the Microsoft-owned studio and Double Eleven, Minecraft Dungeons is a multiplatform dungeon crawler that was released in May 2020.

In the latest blog post published by Mojang on Thursday, it was announced that the game had reached a significant milestone, gathering over 25 million unique players.

It was also confirmed that the 1.17 update, released in November of the previous year, marked the final update for this game, and the team has "moved on to new projects, continuing to explore the Minecraft universe."

"This means that there are no plans for the introduction of new features or content updates for the game," the press release states. "We intend to keep creating new experiences within the Minecraft world and provide our team with the freedom to explore other exciting projects, just as they did with Dungeons!"

Mojang's annual Minecraft Live broadcast is scheduled for October 15th at 10 am Pacific Time/ 1 pm Eastern Time/ 6 pm British Summer Time. This event will feature news about Minecraft and Minecraft: Legends, including information about Minecraft Update 1.21, as well as interviews with developers and the announcement of the winner of the 2023 mob vote, in which players will help choose what the studio should work on.

Earlier this month, Microsoft officially stated that the appearance of new entries in rating listings for the Xbox Series X/S version of Minecraft "does not imply" any intentions to release a version of the game for the current generation of consoles.
