SteamStarting on January 1, 2024, Steam will no longer provide support for the Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 operating systems. This means that users who are still using any of these operating systems will not be able to run the Steam Client after that date. To continue using Steam and any games or products purchased through the platform, users will need to upgrade to a more recent version of Windows.
The latest features in Steam depend on an integrated version of Google Chrome, which does not work on older versions of Windows. Furthermore, upcoming versions of Steam will require Windows feature and security updates that are only available in Windows 10 and newer versions of the operating system.
