The portable console is already available for pre-order at the PlayStation Direct store in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

Starting from September 29th, it will be available for pre-order from "other selected retail partners" in these countries, as well as in Japan and Canada.

The PlayStation Portal will cost $199.99/ €219.99/ £199.99 when it launches on November 15th. Despite looking like a traditional portable gaming console, its functionality is limited to streaming games from the PS5 console.

In a Sony blog post from last week, it is mentioned: "PlayStation Portal is the perfect device for gamers in families who have to share the living room television or simply want to play PS5 games in another room." It will connect to your PS5 via Wi-Fi, allowing you to quickly switch from playing on the PS5 to the PlayStation Portal. The PlayStation Portal can play supported games installed on your PS5 and use the DualSense controller.

It's important to note that the PlayStation Portal is exclusively designed for Remote Play and does not provide access to cloud game streaming from PlayStation Plus Premium. Therefore, players will need to have a PS5 console for the PlayStation Portal to function properly.

Even if players have a PS5, they won't be able to use it for streaming games through PS Plus Premium and then transferring that to the Portal.
