FTW Esports Bids Farewell to Counter-Strike Division Amid Strategic Overhaul
Portuguese eSports giant FTW has officially announced the closure of its Counter-Strike division, a development shared through a statement on the organization's official website.
The decision to dissolve the Counter-Strike team stems from a strategic economic restructuring initiative. The leadership aims to better balance the execution of both ongoing and future projects, a goal that was deemed unattainable with continued financial commitments to the CS:GO squad.
Since 2013, For The Win has been an active and consistent force in the professional Counter-Strike scene. Although the team established a strong domestic presence, it struggled to leave a mark on the international stage.
The future of FTW's roster remains uncertain, with no clear indication if the players will stick together as a unit. Interestingly, this announcement comes just a week after the team clinched the title at the Master League Portugal Season 13, highlighting their dominance in the Portuguese circuit.
