Major Profile Data Issues in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Hinder Player Progression – Full Recovery Expected Soon!
Activision has confirmed that both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Warzone are experiencing a profile data issue that significantly hampers player progression. Affected players in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will be unable to use some of their favorite weapons and gear until the development team resolves the problem.
Season 4 Reloaded for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone kicked off on June 26, marking the midpoint of the current season. This update introduced a variety of weapons, limited-time modes, and other seasonal content to both games, along with numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments. Additional tweaks were implemented in the July 2 Warzone update, which weakened some of the most popular weapons from the Season 4 meta.
On July 8, the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account announced a temporary service disruption preventing players from accessing their profile data. Players affected by this issue will notice missing ranks, progression, and unlocks linked to their profiles. Consequently, they will be unable to use certain weapons and gear in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded. Thankfully, Activision confirmed that no player data has been lost and that a full recovery is expected within an hour of the Twitter post.
Despite Activision's reassurances, many in the Call of Duty community are frustrated with the state of the games. Players on Twitter have reported lag spikes and other connectivity issues following the Season 4 Reloaded update. Additionally, some Xbox players are calling for further game optimizations after the profile data issue is resolved.
Once the profile recovery is complete, players in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone can continue enjoying the Season 4 Reloaded content without interruptions. Both games will keep receiving major content and balance updates in Season 5, leading up to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 this October. After the launch of Black Ops 6, content updates for Modern Warfare 3 are likely to cease, but players can expect a year's worth of updates for the new Call of Duty game and Warzone. Activision will reveal more details about upcoming content at the Call of Duty NEXT event in August.
