Blizzard Announces Overwatch 2 Rose Gold Mercy Bundle for Charity
Blizzard has unveiled the Overwatch 2 Rose Gold Mercy Bundle, released as part of a charity campaign to support breast cancer research. The Overwatch series has a strong history with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), previously raising significant funds through in-game events.
In May 2018, the original Overwatch hosted a charity campaign selling a pink Mercy skin, with proceeds going to the BCRF. This campaign raised approximately $12.7 million in just eight days, marking the largest single donation the charity had ever received.
The original pink Mercy skin returns to Overwatch 2 in a similar charity campaign. Additionally, a new Rose Gold Mercy Bundle will be available, featuring an entirely new pink-themed suit for Mercy along with several extras, including an exclusive heroic weapon skin. Priced at $19.99, the bundle will see 100% of its proceeds (excluding taxes and platform fees) donated to the BCRF, the largest charity in the U.S. dedicated to the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. The original pink Mercy skin will also be re-released for $14.99 under the same donation terms.
What's Included in the Overwatch 2 Rose Gold Mercy Bundle
- Rose Gold Mercy skin
- Rose Gold weapon skin
- Three name cards
- Three sprays
- Three icons
The new exclusive skin outfits Mercy and her weapon in deep rose and pale pink hues with metallic gold accents. Alongside the skin, the bundle includes three name cards, three sprays, and three icons for use in the game. Both the Rose Gold Mercy Bundle and the original pink skin will be available from June 25 to July 8. Blizzard has confirmed that the Rose Gold Mercy skin will not be sold separately and must be purchased as part of the bundle.
This charity event coincides with the Overwatch 2 Pride Month celebrations, which feature clothing sales benefiting The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention charity supporting the LGBTQIA community.
Breast cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women worldwide, and the gaming community is actively supporting the cause. In addition to Blizzard's efforts, Street Fighter 5 launched its own breast cancer research charity campaign in fall 2021, offering pink-themed outfits for Chun-Li and Ryu with proceeds benefiting the BCRF.
