Blizzard is reevaluating its strategy for the Overwatch League
Blizzard has announced its intention to reevaluate its strategy regarding its esports program and the Overwatch League. This information was shared by the organizers via Twitter.
According to journalists, the league is currently in negotiations with ESL FACEIT Group regarding the future esports landscape for Overwatch and is also exploring the possibility of establishing a league in North America and Europe. However, these negotiations are still in the early stages.
It was previously announced that the league organizers have entered into a new agreement with clubs, allowing teams to exit the league and receive a payout of $6 million after the conclusion of the 2023 season. As reported by GGRecon, to ensure the league's continuation, it is necessary for two-thirds of the teams to decide to remain.
