Pete Hines has been a pivotal figure at Bethesda and is considered one of the key creators behind iconic games such as "Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout." His decision to depart was not made lightly, but after the successful launch of "Starfield," he felt it was time for a change.

He also emphasized that this is not a farewell and that his love for Bethesda and its community remains unwavering. He expressed gratitude to his fans and the community for the energy and support they've provided over the years.

In Bethesda's statement, they acknowledged Pete Hines' vital role in the company's development. "Pete's public presence was just a small part of his role at Bethesda, although how he represented us reflected the values he nurtured here: authenticity, integrity, and passion," the statement said.

"His contribution was an integral part of building Bethesda and its family of studios into the fantastic organization it is today. His vision helped propel us forward, and his hard work inspired us."

Bethesda's employees and the gaming community have expressed their gratitude and wished Pete Hines all the best in his new chapter. This farewell comes shortly after the successful launch of "Starfield," which was the company's first game release after Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda in 2021.
